Overcoming the effect of the Ph1 locus in wheat with drugs

Project aims

  • Identify a drug which increases chromosome pairing in hybrids of wheat and rye in the presence of Ph1.
  • Treat various F1 plants with this drug with the aim of inducing homoeologous recombination or altering homologous recombination as observed by characterisation of the resulting F2 plants.
