BBSRC Crop Science Initiative
Several grants funded under the Crop Science Initiative (CSI) were awarded to monogram PIs. These serve to
illustrate the synergy and added value of monogram. Those involving monogram PIs are co-ordinated through
monogram. It should also be noted that many of these grants involve collaborations with Universities, or with NIAB.
- The Reduced Height Gene (Rht).
- The Smart Carbohydrate Centre.
- Enhancing wheat field performance and response to abiotic stress with novel growth-regulatory alleles.
- Overcoming the effect of the Ph1 locus in wheat with drugs.
- Optimising wheat grain shape and size for improved processing quality.
- Exploiting eIF4E-based and associated broad-spectrum resistance to potyviruses in dicots and monocots
